today, Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) Executive Director Bryan
Ardouny, Assembly Communications Director Taniel Koushakjian, and Armenian
National Institute (ANI) Director Dr. Rouben Adalian met with Nagorno
Karabakh Republic (NKR) Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan and NKR Representative to
the U.S. Robert Avetisyan in the Assembly
headquarters in Washington, D.C
Mirzoyan is
in Washington for a series of meetings and will be the keynote speaker at the
annual Capitol Hill celebration of Nagorno Karabakh/Artsakh Independence Day on
Wednesday, December 9. During the meeting, the NKR delegation and Assembly
staff discussed ways to strengthen the U.S. – Nagorno Karabakh bilateral
relationship, critical U.S. assistance to Karabakh, updates on the increased
Azerbaijan attacks along the line of contact, as well as regional and global challenges.
Mirzoyan
thanked the Assembly for its steadfast commitment to the people of Artsakh and
for the Assembly’s work in Karabakh and Armenia.
