WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) is pleased to announce an evening of celebration with members, intern alumni, and community friends of the Assembly in honor of two of its guiding figures. The Assembly invites everyone to celebrate the past and present while toasting to the future in Philadelphia. The event will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the National Constitution Center. The evening’s entertainment will feature Kevork Artinian and his Band.
Irene and Peter Vosbikian
The Assembly will be honoring longtime members and Life Trustees Peter and Irene Vosbikian. Mr. Vosbikian was on the Board of Directors from 2000-2006, and served as Chairman in 2002 and 2003. He was on the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee from 2007 through 2009. During his Chairmanship, Mr. Vosbikian encouraged more delegations of public policy makers and mission trips to visit Armenia and Artsakh, especially for young Armenian Americans. He was motivated to expand the Assembly’s government relations team and increase participation at Advocacy Conferences to build a stronger, better-informed and active grassroots network.
“Having served alongside Peter on the Assembly’s Board, we are especially proud to honor Peter and his wife Irene for their life-time commitment to the Armenian people. The Assembly is fortunate to have had the benefit of their passion, dedication, and generosity throughout the years,” Assembly Co-Chairs Anthony Barsamian and Van Krikorian stated. “We look forward to honoring this wonderful couple and family in Philadelphia later this year,” they added.
Peter and Irene are both avid philanthropists, and are strong supporters of the Armenian Sisters Academy in Radnor, PA, located in a suburb of Philadelphia.
“We look forward to reconnecting with the Philadelphia community, as well as throughout the tri-state area and beyond. As an Armenian Assembly intern alumnus, I am excited to gather everyone for an entertaining evening where we can enjoy the accomplishments of the Assembly. It is an honor to work alongside such a great group of people on the Host Committee for what promises to be an unforgettable night,” Karapetian said.
