YEREVAN, ARMENIA – On July 3, the Armenian Assembly of America’s Yerevan office held a press discussion with Dr. Artak Shakaryan, specialist on Turkey, Dr. Gohar Iskandaryan, specialist on Iran, and Dr. Sargis Grigoryan, specialist on the Middle East. The briefing covered in detail the 2013 developments in Turkey, Iran and Syria, their connections and implications for the broader region. The experts presented on important topics such as the “Turkish Spring” and the Kurdish process, the election of a new president in Iran and its nuclear future, the supply of weapons to Syrian rebels and the potential developments. Both youth and media were present. The event was organized by the Armenian Assembly of America, “Regional Affairs” scientific magazine, Scientific-Analytical Center for Regional Affairs, and School for Young Leaders.
