The Armenian Assembly of America has released a new factsheet highlighting the history, presence, and institutions of the Armenian community in Iran.
As war unfolds in Iran and concern grows for civilians across the country, this resource provides important context about one of the world’s oldest Armenian diasporas.
Armenians have lived in Iran for nearly two millennia, preserving their Christian faith, language, and cultural traditions across generations. Today, approximately 150,000 Armenians live in Iran, making them the country’s largest Christian minority.
The factsheet provides an overview of the Armenian community’s historic roots, religious institutions, schools, and cultural presence across the country.
