Our First Hearing: U.S. Helsinki Commission to hold hearing on Azerbaijan

Today, all of our Terjenian-Thomas Armenian Assembly of America summer 2014 interns attended a hearing in Russell Senate Building on Azerbaijan. At the “U.S. Helsinki Commission Hearing on Azerbaijan,” we learned about the economic, political, and human rights statuses of Azerbaijan.

The interns were not only excited to attend their first hearing, but the topics discussed involved Armenian-related issues. This intrigued the group and sparked an intellectual follow-up discussion over potential improvements and prospects regarding Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
