LAS VEGAS, NV – National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), the company that runs the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), has named two vice presidents “to help lead the company to the next level of excellence,” NSTec President Jim Holt has announced.

Raffi Papazian has been named to the position of Vice President for Program Integration. He will ensure that program execution at the national security site is integrated across the company directorates to maximize cross-utilization of personnel, leverage capabilities and facilities, and coordinate program and business development. Papazian previously served as Director of Defense Experimentation and Stockpile Stewardship (DE&SS) for the company.

Roy Bridges has been named Vice President for Operations for the company. He will be in charge of all operations support elements at the NNSS. Bridges previously served as Vice President for Strategic Management.

“NSTec has established standards of excellence that rival any in the nuclear security complex. Our goal is to continue building on that success,” Holt said in his announcement.

As director of DE&SS, Papazian oversaw the deployment of a wide range of science and technologies used to focus on experiments in weapons science. A primary mission of the NNSS is to help ensure that the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile remains safe, reliable, and secure from our enemies.

Papazian previously managed the Mission and Project Division where he and his team of program and project managers managed the portfolio of activities in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Nuclear Security Enterprise. He also was previously the Test Group Director of the Test Office in the Dynamic Experimentation (DX) Division for Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). His appointment to the Test Office was effective in May 1995 until his departure from LANL in November 2006.

Prior to becoming Test Director, Papazian was the Deputy Group Leader at the NNSS for the Test Engineering (DX-17) group in DX Division. He joined the LANL field test organization in 1984. His association at the NNSS began in 1981 with the Westinghouse Electric Corp., Marine Division, as a field engineer on the Peacekeeper test program at Jackass Flats and Vandenberg AFB.

His professional career began in 1981 as a design engineer for Texas Instruments, Electro-Optics Division, designing airborne Department of Defense components. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Miami, FL.
